Co-organizing Launching Ceremony Cum Premiere of TV Series “TechnoFrontier” on 24 September

Sept 2008

Hong Kong RFID has always stressed its innovative characteristics through continuous effort in research and development and participation in various creative I.T. projects and programs. Lately, HKRFID was invited to assist the filming of a local TV series produced by RTHK.

¨TechnoFrontier〃 is a prime time TV series which introduces the latest information technology developments in a fun and somewhat comic way. The theme of the program is how technology changes our daily lives in the aspects of fashion, food, housing and transportation. We were invited to share our recent project experiences in applying RFID in housing and construction in one of the episodes of the TV series. Though we are busy with daily company operation, bearing in mind our mission of promoting RFID technology to the public, it is worth our extra effort to assist the filming of the TV series.

Apart from assisting the production of the series, HKRFID also co-organized the launching ceremony and premiere of ¨TechnoFrontier〃 with our RFID equipment. Mrs. Rita Lau, Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, Professor Paul Chu, President of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and Mr. Franklin Wong, Director of Broadcasting also attended the ceremony at Hong Kong Science Park on 24th September. Guests were able to use their access cards with a RFID tag to initiate different video clips at the ceremony venue. The event was very successful with contribution from both RTHKˇs and our staff.

Hong Kong RFID hopes for more of such events in the future allowing us more chances to be exposed to the public and promote RFID technology and its applications.
